Next Steps
Baptism is not what saves you. Jesus saves you. Baptism is how you tell everyone about it. It is the most public, most personal, most powerful declaration a follower of Jesus can make.
We practice believer's baptism by immersion. We baptize people who have trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord -- not infants, not people who are unsure, but people who have made a genuine decision to follow Him.
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward transformation. When you go under the water, it pictures death -- your old life, buried with Christ. When you come up, it pictures resurrection -- the new life you now walk in. It is a declaration to the world, to the enemy, and to yourself: I am not who I used to be.
Anyone who has genuinely trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. That is the only requirement. Not a certain age, not a certain level of biblical knowledge, not a certain amount of time in the faith. If you belong to Jesus, baptism is your next step.
If you were baptized as an infant, we honor your tradition but believe Scripture calls for a personal, conscious declaration of faith. If you would like to be baptized as a believer, we would be honored to walk through that with you.
We baptize regularly -- whenever someone is ready. There is no waiting for a special service. If you are ready, we are ready.
Before your baptism, we will meet with you briefly to hear your story and pray with you. On the day, you will share a short testimony (a few sentences is enough) and then be baptized in front of the congregation. It is one of the most powerful moments in the life of our church family.
Wear clothes you do not mind getting wet. We will have a towel and a dry place to change. That is all you need.
Email us at info@gatheringctx.org or text us at (817) 518-4773 and tell us you want to be baptized. We will take it from there. This is one of the best calls you will ever make.
